Uuuum, you are taking personal a discussion that was ment for only one person who begin to insult the new material. There is a big difference between "don't liking the new album" (There is nothing wrong on it), and insulting.

I think you missed the entire point of what was being said. What I gathered from it, the issue is that peoples tastes changes over time, whether they know it or not. So, the album may not be your cup of tea, but it suits other people just fine. What one person thinks is 'crap', could be gold to the next.

I have along the way somehow lost the magical feeling for Rhapsody's new music. I adore the older stuff, those records still gives me the shivers. Those many years without any new material when they were signed with MCM did not make it better, i think that was the turning point for me. I still hope that i once again can embrace their music as i did before, maybe their new release in october can get me on the right path again or maybe not.

I know what i read earlier, it's the listener's fault if they don't like the new album. I'm not an ass-kisser when it comes to my musical taste, if i don't like the new stuff that is my personal standing. I thought this forum was about giving criticism about their music good or bad, and not an brainwashed sect that idolize everything they do even if they release an album containing 10 cover song's of SURFIN BIRD ( The Trashmen). And I if someone talk's bad about the new album, luca himself steps in and give u the right anwer, ( it's of course their best release, i have never heard a band say: hi guys this is our new album it sounds like crap and it's the worst record we have ever done, but buy it anyway expensive of course) and a negative reputation. If someone would like to express their feelings about the new album good or bad he or she should not get attacked for it. It's all about feelings and personal tastes and that is how it should be.

After reading the critics to this album in this forum, I don't think you can't talk about brainwashed guys), what I don't understand it's some statement like "The new thing is crap, so if you like it, you are stupid" (Again, don't take it personal, some other guy said something like that).

Listen: If someone don't like the album and express it, he get's bad criticism. I get the feeling that you can't really say anything bad about the album, then you have all the others jumping at you and that gives me the feeling of a brainwashed side of it. It is a metafor not a statement. of course the majority likes the album, but there is a minority side of it to you know. If u like the album everybody cheerish u, but if you don't like it you can read somewhere in the text between the lines that those people are stupid.

No one here is brained washed, we don't blindly follow everything Rhapsody dose. We all have brains in our heads and we all have different heathy opinions and comments how this or that could be better and so on, that leads to a nice normal debate. No one is calling any one stupid if you like this album more then another, not even below the surface. Unless maybe your calling the band or an album stupid with out any thought placed into it. If someone say's something just plain out just insulting to the band then they should prepare to be flamed, be ready to back up your words. Seeing how they so simply sent harsh comments, they should simply be able to receive them.

I really don't need to defend myself or backing any words up. This is just my feelings and my opinion about the whole thing. People do what they do and say what they say, let's leave it that way and end this discussion. There are more funnier things to talk about that makes people happier. Everybody can't have the same opinions about everything and get along, but that is what makes it interesting to discuss.

I know it's best for all of us to quit arguing about this... But, I just can't leave your insults unanswered, because I didn't insult anyone, and won't, so this is very unfair.

I think I know what is the issue here... "Problem" is a single, plain word, Northlander, and it has NOTHING to do with insulting anyone. By reading your harsh answer, I think I can tell that you (1) took this personally and (2) misunderstood what I meant. I didn't mean that the listener had (mental)problems xD... I didn't say that listeners who don't like the new album are better or worse than those who like it. I just said that it is a possibility that the reason why you don't like the new stuff might be the same reason why you probably WON'T like any new stuff hereafter: that you might be just used to the old sound. If a listener who says that the new stuff is "new crap" happens to claim that he likes only Rhapsody's old stuff, then, the problem isn't the album, but the listener, because he simply won't like any new release, for he is accustomed to the old sound, and is eagerly waiting for its revival. If you see the world through sunglasses, you'll think it's always dark... but it isn't.

So what I claim here is that the problem isn't the band. C'mon, I think this is easy to see. The band will be the problem when, for example, they release an album that most people don't like. You can't say the band is the problem when this album is so high-ranked in charts and has had so many great reviews. I'm NOT claiming that people who don't like the new album are retarded, and I hope you get it this time. I just say that if you are looking for the EXACT old sound, then you'll most probably be always disappointed from now on, because every band evolves into new sounds.

I'm still hoping for a POTD part 2. It's not really the sound i'm having problems with, i think the songs are to weak imo. There were only 2 songs that i liked on the latest effort and that can't be a good thing? The rest just went through my ears.

I'm a big big fan of Rhapsody of Fire, it because of them that i started to listen metal it was the first band that i had eard since that they still are a great b...and, upon all the problems and difficulties in the last years. I'm very happy about the new album and most important the return to the tours well deserved. I seriously hope that Rhapsody remember of PORTUGAL for the next tour, because you have here lots of fans waiting for a oportunity to see you alive, like me if i could have the opportunity to see Rhapsody alive and color i would be the happiest man in earth. If Rhapsody come to Spain i will gonna see them, doens't care when...Portugal or Spain...all i want is to see this great band alive and enjoy and feel the music they play!!
